At Sharp Bricklaying, our work goes beyond conventional brickwork. We also accommodate owner-builders and a range of residential projects, from complete custom homes and larger residential developments to smaller bespoke builds.

Our approach is anything but standard. From curved walls and intricate hit-and-miss brickwork to decorative features, archways, detailed bonding patterns and one-off architectural designs, we understand how individual elements come together to achieve the overall design intent. It’s often the smaller details, the ones easily overlooked, that make the greatest difference to the finished project.

We work with premium brick products, including Krause Emperor bricks, exploring different sizes, textures, finishes and bonding patterns to create brickwork that complements the surrounding architecture. Alternative treatments, including acid sponge finishes where suitable, can introduce variations in texture and appearance, while carefully selected mortar colours and jointing techniques can completely change how the same brick presents.

From flush and raked joints to more specialised joint profiles, oxide-coloured mortar and custom finishing techniques, we consider how each detail affects the overall appearance of the brickwork. Achieving the right result isn’t simply about choosing a brick. It’s about understanding how the brick, mortar, joint profile and finish work together, while maintaining consistency throughout the entire project.

Builders and clients are welcome to supply their own materials or have us arrange everything as part of the project. Where materials are purchased independently, we’re happy to provide guidance on suitable brick products and materials.
